Interlude

It's a jacket-dress that I designed and created from an altered dress pattern (aka I took the body of the dress and cut lots of things and didn't follow instructions and added a hood). I sewed the whole thing over two days. The skirt is in four panels and trim borders the hood, sleeves, and front opening. I also created my own frog closures (which was an experience alright). Slightly inspired by Kahlan's green dress in Legend of the Seeker

Sewing and costumery is really new for me. I've always loved costume and fashion design and I do collect an alarming amount of pictures, but I generally didn't go for an entire sewing project from scratch - I altered and pieced things together. This is my second piece I completely made (but the first of my own design) and I've already fallen in love. I'm working on designing my Halloween costume now
